«Η Agnès Varda διασκεδάζει όταν σκηνοθετεί τις ταινίες της, άρα μάλλον θα διασκεδάσουμε κι εμείς σαν θεατές», είχε γράψει ο Φρανσουά Τρυφώ το 1957. Εξήντα χρόνια αργότερα, η δήλωση αυτή δεν θα μπορούσε να αληθεύει περισσότερο για την ταινία Faces Places, όπου η 88άχρονη πια σκηνοθέτις σε συνεργασία με τον νεαρό φωτογράφο JR, ξεκινούν ένα οδοιπορικό, δημιουργώντας έργα τέχνης, ανταμώνοντας με φίλους παλιούς και συναντώντας άλλους, νέους.

''Agnès Varda has fun making her films, so we may have fun watching them," wrote François Truffaut in 1957. Six decades later, that statement is equally true for Faces Places, where the now 88-year-old filmmaker takes to the road with the young photo-muralist JR, creating artworks, looking up old friends and finding new ones.
