Presentation: Latest Trends in Interactive Documentary and Virtual Reality Storytelling

The internet is nothing new. The world wide web is over 25 years old and filmmakers, journalists and digital artists have been successfully creating web documentaries, transmedia projects and other new forms of non-fiction storytelling for over a decade. But, as the web is maturing (and losing its innocence), new breakthroughs in virtual reality, science and technology are rapidly redefining the art of digital documentary and interactive non-fiction storytelling.

Caspar Sonnen is Head of New Media at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and founder of the festival's IDFA DocLab, a pioneering platform for digital and interactive non-fiction, multimedia journalism and virtual reality. During his session at the festival, he will present an overview of the latest trends in digital storytelling and showcase some of his favorite new and upcoming projects. Bring your internet-connected device and let's play with reality.
