 In the context of the festival’s parallel activities, a new pitching initiative is being launched entitled DocsTalk,Cyprus. The initiative is directed exclusively to professional directors and producers and it provides the perfect place for documentary filmmakers to meet potential production investors and production partners.
DocsTalk,Cyprus is a one day workshop and its main objective is to bring together documentary directors and producers with international commissioning editors and buyers. The selected projects will be discussed during the workshop in dedicated, scheduled one-to-one meetings with the buyers. DocsTalk,Cyprus is to be held on Saturday 8th of August 2009 at Curium Palace Hotel in Lemesos, Cyprus from 9:00 to 17:00.
Last date of applications is the 15th of July 2009. Terms and Conditions Who is Eligible DocsTalk,Cyprus is open to all documentary makers, from any country and the submitted projects can be at any stage of development. No prior credits are necessary and projects do not need to have a financial plan already in place. The projects submitted are encouraged to have an international appeal and take an innovative / fresh approach to either the content, the execution of the idea or both. More than one person can participate for each project (eg. Both director and Producer can attend during the meetings). Number of Participants A maximum of 12 projects will be selected. All applicants need to submit a one-page treatment together with their application form. Scheduling of meetings is at the discretion of the organizers. Working Language English will be the working language of the workshop. Fees There is no entry fee to apply. For the selected projects there will be a €100 participation fee, to be paid prior to the workshop.
